TCR # 39 Gone For a Walk - December 2010

Lots of challenge sites have combos with orange in them, suppose it's because it is a challenge for most scrappers. It definitely is for me.

Oh boy, nobody would believe this is palette #39 but honestly, in real life all the colours are there! With the brights in my other LO, I thought I'd take down the colours several notches and make something that is more "me". The pic was taken by my good friend K earlier in the autumn 2010. She lives out in the country side and has deer eating off her apple trees. I have cropped and zoomed the original pic that showed this teeeny car parked on a deserted country road and a blazing autumnal forest surrounding it but the leaves look red instead of orange when I downloaded the page. Papers are really old BG from my stash and a couple of details from Curio. Thank you very much for any comments you leave!!

TCR # 37 Joie De Vivre - December 2010

54 years have passed since that sunny summers day with newly engaged MIL Britt on the jetty in the Stockholm archipelago of Gräsö. This photo was taken last summer on her 86th birthday and she still knows the recipe for a happy life even if her darling Bo is no longer with us: LOVE. We both adore the Nat King Cole song "Nature Boy" and that's what this whole page is about; the greatest thing we will ever learn is just to love and be loved in return. I rather fell for the combo of sky blue and lime, leaving the pink secondary. Pps a mix of Prima and BG Marjolaine, some embellies from my stash, blue brocade stamped as background on Prima pp under the journalling. Thank you for having a peek and perhaps taking the time to leave a comment!! xx

TCR # 38 Nurse Britt - December 2010

Here's a second page about my MIL, another really hard struggle with the palette. Not much to raid in my stash I'm afraid. The photo is taken on a very special day, her graduation day in 1953. After many years of hard struggle she can finally and very proudly call herself a nurse. Once again, poor daylight really does not do any justice to the colours. The grayish-blackish backing pp and the dito swirl have a lovely sparkle to them in real life and the Stickles on the ribbon is really not that dull and matte. Other pps are BG Curio, MME and Graphic45. Thank you so very much for having a peek, any comments are so appreciated!

TCR # 36 - Gräsö - December 2010

This week's palette with Avocado; Warm Olive; Cool Stone and Wood Stain might not be exactly my fave combo but I gave it a try and here's my take on it.

What a few days off from work can do for a girl with no time to scrap! Started on a series of pages about my MIL, they are all in different semi-finished state strewn all over our dining room. The colours of #36 remind me of Swedish early summer with its mild greens and sheer earthy hues. The photo was the easy bit. I think I must have dismantled this page at least 3 times and then I just caved in and this is the result. MIL is newly engaged but they will have to wait another 4 years before they can afford to marry. The sentiment reads "Love is what makes the ride worthwhile", so true for MIL and FIL. Unfortunately the daylight at Northpole leaves a lot to be wished for. Pps are a mix of Swedish designer Maja, BG Marjolaine, 7Gypsies, and Graphic45. Swirls made with Stickles Cinnamon, handmade flowers and the usual distressing and crumpling. TFL!!

TCR # 34 It Tickles and Pearls of Laughter - November 2010

I normally don't upload anything that I haven't specifically made for TCR, but I simply couldn't resist with the palette #34. This is something that I made for my cousin's birthday earlier this year. It's her and her son William in the photo. The title says "it tickles". I finished the sequel to it some time ago but have been saving it for X-mas. It will also be framed. Am uploading it separateley. TFL! any comment is so appreciated!

Here's the sequel to my #34_It Tickles. Same photo but this time in B&W. It will also be framed and given to my cousin for X-mas. Used up quite a bit from my Prima stash here. Thank you so much for looking and taking the time to make any comments!

Who said lovely pinks and baby blues don't go with male pages?! This is my FIL on a summers day back in 1952 and his son/my husband also on a summers day in 2010. I made the large pink bloom of tulle/tissuepaper/old book page/cardstock and a brad, also the tiny squashed ones in the cluster to the left. The rest is from my Prima stash. TFL!!

TCR # 32 Summer Memories - November 2010

These pictures show the essence of Swedish summer at its best. They were taken in August in the Stockholm archipelago on a balmy, wind-still and sunny early evening just as the sun was beginning to set over the soft, rounded cliffs and the still water. Just perfect for an evening dip and a BBQ with a glass of cold, crisp white wine aaahh! I look at these pics now when the temperature hits well below -10C and the snow glitters on the roof tops, guess which season I long for .. and yes, that's me! pps are WB, yellow daisy is handmade, tag and butterfly overlay are BG Curio. Thank you so much for looking!!

TCR # 31 Smile - November 2010

What a yummie, luscious palette! had to make two LOs, this is the first one. When you smile, the whole world smiles with you little Miss T! same little girl that giggled away and picked white anemones in my earlier pages. Floral pp with scaloped border is MME, the paper strips are BG and the cut out curly-swirly paper is Fancy Pants Wishful thinking, or at least I think it is. Flowers Prima, brads, ribbon and roses from my stash. TFL!!

And this is the second LO I made for the scrummy palette #31. Frame is cut-out from Prima paper, centre green floral paper is Fancy Pants, the floral strip is Basic Grey and the pink next to the photo is the cut-out centre of the Prima framed paper. Flowers are dismantled Prima blooms and cut-outs from Prima Annalee pp. The pic is of DH taken last summer. TFL!! any comments are dearly appreciated!

TCR # 30 - 1937 - October 2010

This week's palette is masculine and we are in His Room with the colours Totally Teal; White; Light Teal Blue and Totally Tan.

Feels great to have some time to play again, have been completely snowed under lately. This pic is of my FIL and his sister, I have been told he was about 10 years then. For his mother, my husband's paternal grandmother, it was incredibly important to have a studio picture taken where he wore sailor suit with proper trousers and his sister had white patent leather shoes and a frilly frock. The papers are a mix of WB, MME and 7Gypsies. Lace and buttons from my stash, flowers and leaves Prima, thickers from local supplier Panduro. TFL!!
